Our friend Maureen Nevin Duffy of the Asbury Park Press ran an excellent
article "A PLACE IN HISTORY: Marconi's Jersey Shore Think Tank
Still Striving".
The first line: "Some endeavors are
just too innately important to let fail".
Thank you Maureen and Thanks
to our volunteer efforts Camp Evans will have a future in education as a
National Historic landmark. Maureen also covered the NJNG donation and
our happy reaction to it.

Tektronix to present exhibit honoring Howard Vollum, August 27
On Wednesday, August 27, 2008 at 6:30 PM the Tektronix Corporation will present an exhibit to InfoAge to honor the corporations founder, Howard Vollum.
Howard Vollum contributed to the WW2 victory in England and also in the US at Camp Evans. He assisted the British with advanced radar development and when he returned to the US he worked at Camp Evans on mortar locating radar development. After the war he returned home and put his advanced electronics knowledge to work to form the Tektronix Corporation.
As the WW2 Living Memorial we are pleased his corporation will present InfoAge this exhibit.
Howard Vollum is a stellar example of the electronic heroes who helped bring about the allied victory and then drive the post war electronics industry.
The ceremony is open to the public. We request those attending RSVP so we can have sufficient refreshments on hand.
For more information, see the story about Howard Vollum in the "Coming Events" section of the InfoAge homepage.
