***LEAKS ARE THE CANCER OF A HISTORIC STRUCTURE -

**Things that went on this week** This list will be short - I lost my
notes - memory gone - brain on overload - please send me reminders of
accomplishments.

-The reimbursement funds from the county arrived - This is excellent.
-This past weekend InfoAge hosted a CouchSurfing.org weekend at the
cottage. There were visitors from five countries and all over the US.
They used InfoAge as a home base for day trips to Sandy Hook and Ocean
Grove. Everyone had a great time and they are planning on taking a trip
back for the Haunted Hotel. A special thanks goes out to Steve G, Fred C
and Dan L for giving them special tours of InfoAge.

-Nels, Judy, Laura Parker and husband, Rich M. Stacie S. and many other
crew members are working like crazy on the Haunted Hotel. Everyday the
exhibits are better and better.
-We filed for a electrical permit. We will be replacing the missing
EXIT signs in 9010B-D.

- We made progress in the 9032 restrooms.
-Mary Rose, our Intern is still with us. She is working on improved
flyers, posters etc. - We have finished the green on 9034 and only a
small amount of trim is left. - Vladimir's vines are shriveling and dying.
-Eagle Ian Thompson completed his project. We now have a longer river
path by the Marconi Receiver building 9004 and a river picnic area named
- 'Rum Runners Cove'. An old time told stories of the back of the Shark
River and the Marconi Building being used for bringing in liquor during
prohibition. Thus the name.
- John B., has made even more improvements to our website.
-On the Zone valve - we need to get the hotel heat system zone values
repaired - Lou R. and Norm L. checked out the challenge. An internet
search shows Honeywell makes new steam zone valves. In now a case of
what to order and the cost.
- Nels W. Pete R., Kyle B. and Bob W., mowed the whole place. If you
like to mow - please talk to Nels. There is plenty of grass to cut.
-The blank forms for membership cards arrived. I have to get the mail
merge form done. Terry L. has offered help.
***The scratch coat on 9006 is still done. I have found the file to
get to work on the paperwork to apply for the balance of the grant. I
have to get this done. The forms for the next round have arrived. Dan
L. is reviewing them.
-Amanda B. did the mail merge and mailing labels for the American Legion
appeal. All 260 will get a cover letter, a selection of inserts.
-John Cervini has selected a hotel dining room AC bid he likes. We have
signed a contract. As instructed by ITT we have requested donation to
complete the work.
- Bob G. has made progress in funding the printing of his book on Camp
Evans Army History. ITT is helping.
-Felix L. visited to drop off a stack of Army technical manuals. He
showed us that Camp Evans was involved in photo interpretation from a
equipment and procedures development prospective.
- Dan L and the NJHDA along with Shore Aquatic Club members have cleaned
out all the debris from 9057, the WW2 two bay garage behind 9034. They
nearly filled a dumpster with broken sheet rock.
-Dave Sn. has a great idea for a Thankgiving - November fund raiser. A
driving tour and scarecrow contest. Ideas and suggestion welcome.
-I need someone to nag me to get the glass replaced on the three windows in
the hotel before the winter hits.
- I gave a presentation on InfoAge at the Village at Jumping Brook
Community Center. On Thursday Larry T. and I will make a presentation
at the Ocean Twp. democratic club.

This Sunday we had the normally growing number of visitors, plus the
couch surfers. About 40-45 visitors. Some were good to our donation jar.
On hand were: Steve G., Harry K., Aron in the Hall of Fame, Neil N.,
Evan K. Jeff S., Dan & Terry L., Dan J., Dave J., JoAnn B., Michele
and Bella R.,

- Dan J. has the Computer education center ready open for business on
Sundays. *Dan - we have begun the announcement to the press.*
- Dan J. invites you to his morning Landscaping & exercise class.

*Status:*

We are in Emergency Stabilization mode now. We are attacking worse first.

*** Many persons are working to help save Camp Evans and give it a
future in education and as a place to honor those who served. Thank you
to all.

*Reasons to tell persons why to donate (via check or PayPal) to our
effort NOW: *
1) Saves an incredibly historic site
2) Honors WWII Signal Corps and Honor Front veterans
3) Helps education by inspiring kids to learn science
4) Furthers the development of a NJ Shore tourist destination.
5) Will create full and part-time employment
6) Improves property values in the North Wall and Shark River area.
7) We are the White House recognized stewards of the Camp Evans Historic
District and now it is under our protection for future generations

Please email the items I forget. Do not get angry...email me!!! It is
important to report our progress.

**No Passion = No Progress. We have passion and we are progressing -
even if it is tough sometimes.**
If we do not tell kids what great things others have done to improve our
nation how can we expect them to know what they are capable of.
